So Close To What, Tate McRae
New pop sensation Tate McRae has undoubtedly kept fans fed, from embarking on her pivotal ‘Think Later’ tour, which began on April 17, 2024, and ended several months later on November 21, 2024, to releasing singles such as “It’s ok I’m ok,” a track reminiscent of 2000s style pop, and “2 hands,” a fun and groovy new pop anthem. Though McRae has certainly been busy, that’s not all. She has also announced her third album, So Close To What, which is set to drop on February 21, 2025, as well as a new tour.
Hurry Up Tomorrow, The Weeknd
We simply can’t wait for this album to hurry up…see what we did there? The Weeknd has amassed numerous amounts of hits, from newer songs like “Blinding Lights” and “Take My Breath” to older smashes like “Starboy.” It’s more than likely that with his brand-new project, set to be released on January 31, 2025, we can expect more intoxicating musical excellence. According to a Variety cover story, Hurry Up Tomorrow is the last piece of the puzzle, so to speak, with this new album completing the trilogy of album’s begun by The Weeknd, with After Hours and Dawn FM being the first two installments.
Music For People Who Believe in Love, Joe Jonas
Last year was an incredible musical year for Joe Jonas, marked by the continuation of the Jonas Brothers’ global world tour, THE TOUR, where the Jo-Bros sang songs from all five of their albums—including their most recently released 2023 record, The Album—in just one show. Now, this Jonas Brother is gearing up to drop his new solo album: Music For People Who Believe in Love.
Joe has already released two singles from this forthcoming project: the cleverly honest and melodic “Work It Out” on July 19, 2024, and the somber yet entirely hopeful “What This Could Be” on October 4, 2024. This album was initially slated for an October 18, 2024 release date, but has since been pushed back to an unknown date. However, according to Joe Jonas’ official website, the CDs for this record are set to be shipped no later than December 31, 2025.
Lady Gaga’s Seventh Album
It’s been nearly five years since Miss Gaga has dropped a new album, but get ready to jump for joy, Little Monsters, because the iconic Lady Gaga has her seventh studio album coming out this year! Although an official album title has not yet been divulged,a countdown clock has appeared—according to Billboard and Lady Gaga’s own official website—and is set to hit zero this upcoming Monday on January 27, 2025. Could this mean an album announcement? We’ll have to stay tuned and hope that it is!
Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus
We’re about to get the best of both worlds, Smilers! Miley Cyrus will debut a new album this year, and even better: it’s said to be a visual album. This release will mark Cyrus’ ninth studio album. According to Harper’s Bazaar’s cover story with the songstress, this project does not yet have an official release date but is hinted to be a completely different sound than we have heard from Cyrus in her previous albums.
