Buzz, Buzz, Buzz! That’s right hive, the hit Showtime series Yellowjackets is finally back this Friday! With the new season having the clever tagline: “Eat your heart out,” having it premiere on Valentine’s Day simply can’t be a coincidence, right? After the shocking ending of season two (if you know you know), the question plaguing everyone’s mind is: What happens next?
In case you’re a little late to the party and aren’t well versed in all things Yellowjackets (you should definitely start binge watching right now), this addictive series follows a 1996 high school girls soccer team on their way to nationals when their plane crashes in the wilderness. Present day, we follow the survivors of this tragedy as they deal with life, past choices and trauma.
A lot right?
Although we do unfortunately have to wait for the episodes to begin airing to have all of our questions answered and undoubtedly come up with new ones, we do have a trailer that Showtime dropped about two weeks ago as well as a few sneak peeks to keep us satisfied for the next handful of days.
But that’s not all, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Instagram page they are also patiently counting down the days until Yellowjackets season three is here by unveiling new sneak peeks everyday this week!
What we do know however, besides the new season already being phenomenal of course, is that many of the main cast are returning. The cast for the adult plane crash survivors includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose and Simone Kessell, while the teenage cast includes Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Courtney Eaton, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Liv Hewson and Kevin Alves. The new season also brings some new additions like the fabulous Hilary Swank and Joel McHale.
Yellowjackets premieres this Friday, February 14 on Paramount Plus with Showtime.
