It’s time to renew your Max subscriptions! No, Euphoria isn’t back just yet—but The White Lotus is! And this season, they’re in Thailand! It’s quite a change from last season’s Sicilian getaway and season 1’s Hawaiian escape, but regardless of location, this season will still be filled with plenty of secrets, lies, drama, and beautiful views.
With a premiere date of February 16, Max released the season’s first trailer on January 27. According to the trailer, there will be at least one returning Season 2 character: Belinda Lindsey (Natasha Rothwell). What’s happening this season? Well, everything, obviously. It wouldn’t be The White Lotus otherwise.
The trailer confirms that the season will revolve around three lifelong friends vacationing at the Thai resort. The women, played by Leslie Bibb (Juror #2), Carrie Coon (Widows), and Michelle Monaghan (Sleepless), are seen toasting as one of them says, “What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand.” If you’re familiar with the complex plots of the show, you know there’s a lot in store for both characters and viewers alike. Jason Isaacs (Operation Mincemeat) will also appear in the upcoming season, alongside Parker Posey (Thelma), who plays his character’s wife. The couple will be staying at The White Lotus resort with their three children, so that should be interesting.
Blackpink fans are absolutely thrilled that this season marks member Lisa’s acting debut. Although she is on the show’s promotional poster, it’s not too clear what her full role will be or if her character will be a part of the inevitable drama, but it’s nice to see her in a new lane of entertainment.
It looks like fans of the show will be just as satisfied with this season as they were with previous seasons. Although our favorite, Jennifer Coolidge, won’t be reprising her role, there’s one thing we can say about The White Lotus: it’s consistently gritty, filled with dark humor, and riddled with lessons that some of the characters learn, while others ignore.
It’s safe to say we’re in for a treat. See you in Thailand!
