Sabrina ended 2024 with a caffeinated splash as she and Dunkin’ Donuts released a hilarious ad for her new self-titled Brown Sugar Shakin’ Espresso drink. The commercial, which the American coffee company posted to their Instagram on New Year’s Eve, is full of puns. Sabrina is seen wearing a pink dress decorated in matching sequins and pink fur shawl as she stands in a chic Dunkin Donuts coffee themed night club. While nonchalantly shaking a large coffee shaker she cleverly states, “I just love shakin’ that ess.” From that point on the joke persists as other club goers, staff, and even her “grandmother” perpetuate the joke. At the very end Sabrina acknowledges the irony through laughs stating, “Oh, shake that ess kind of sounds like shake that a…”
We can admit that it would not be a Sabrina Carpenter collab if it wasn’t full of silly puns that either make you clutch your pearls or giggle to yourself while turning red. The commercial was a bit more toned down than her usual sexually explicit lyrics but that’s what makes her fun to listen to, no? Plus, with the undeniable success that was her 2024 hit song “Espresso” from her Short n’ Sweet album, this was a match made in heaven! Whoever came up with this idea is a genius!
