The wait is over! After ten months, Taemin is coming back with a new album. A lot has happened with Taemin since his last release, so let’s catch you up!
On March 31, 2024, Taemin announced that he signed an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment for his solo activities. With that announcement also came an official website, taemin-official.com. Taemin had previously signed with SM Entertainment for his solo activities, as they are the company his group SHINee is under.
In April of 2024, Bubble, an app where celebrities can send messages and keep in touch with their fans, announced that Taemin would open his own account.
In May, Taemin’s official fanclub, TAEMate, was announced. Registration took place from May through June. He also opened an account on Fromm, a paid app where artists can send messages to fans and fans can reply.
Taemin held his first fan meeting since signing to a new agency from July 12th through 14th, 2024. The fan meeting was extremely successful! Tickets for the in-person event sold out during the fan club pre-sale. Livestream tickets were also available for fans outside of South Korea. At the end of the event, Taemin showed a teaser video announcing that his 5th mini album would be released on August 19, 2024, and he would be embarking on a world tour.
Just a few short days after the fan meeting, Taemin announced the “Ephemeral Gaze” world tour and included dates for the Asia leg. This part of the tour will start on August 31, 2024, in Seoul, South Korea, and end on November 24, 2024, in Manila, Philippines. The bottom of the poster says, “And more,” so there will be another announcement for tour dates in other countries.
On July 28, 2024, the name of Taemin’s next album was revealed. Taemin’s fifth mini album, Eternal, will be released on August 19, 2024. An album trailer was released on August 12, 2024, and the production sounds incredible! Each Taemin album has something new but stays true to his overall essence.
