REVIEW: Cobra Kai’s Final Season 6: Part 1

New Season of Cobra Kai, but only 5 episodes…

The exhilarating karate show, Cobra Kai, directed and written by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald figured a different perspective of the final season to be executed into three parts each having five episodes to encourage fans to manage the episode load and have an easier binge, which I could understand. But other fans have a different opinion and are not happy the ending result.

According to Men’s Health, the audience have complained already about how the final scene ended in the first part, and boy it was a shock to the viewers. Spoiler alert, if no one has watched it already, Tory, who is played by Peyton List, goes through a traumatizing time of losing her mother while thinking about the fight with Sam LaRusso (Mary Mouser) for the female captain spot for the international event of the Sekai Taiki. While all of the teams come into Barcelona for the tournament, Miyagi-do team recognizes the Cobra Kai logo but with some unknown, intimidating faces that they have never seen before, until they see their former enemy who escaped from jail, John Kreese (Martin Kove) and partner sensei Kim Da-eun from Korea have teamed up together to take down Miyagi-do especially.

Shockingly to viewers, Miyagi-do also seeks another recognizable face which was Tory, who betrayed them, have been in contact with Kreese and has decided to join the dark side of Cobra Kai. And that is how the first part of the season ends, which was an insane plot twist and leaves on a cliffhanger. Now we have to wait until November 15, 2024, for part two of the season, which everyone is already waiting for.

In my opinion, even the show was always a joy to watch the characters who didn’t get along in the past seasons all come together and fight for the same reason and defend each other when needed. As I am on the same boat as everyone else, I already want to the next part to come out to see how this tournament turns out, especially with Peyton List’s character being on the opposing side of her former team, who has always supported her. Other than the crazy cliffhanger that the audience has to wait for until November, I have always liked this show considering the likes of the Karate Kid trilogy with Ralph Macchio. I liked how this season was more of the characters having their personalities clash with each other, while defending themselves from the bad which has always been thrilling to watch. I can’t wait to see what the next part has in store for us.

In conclusion, this show is always exciting for me to watch, especially when I first heard that they were remaking a sequel show about the movies. So, I was very tempted for the last season to come out because it has been a while since Season 5 came out. Overall, I would give this show a watch for those who have not seen it.
