Chung Ha is back with new music! While she released a few singles last year, her last EP came out in 2019.
On January 22, 2025, Chung Ha’s label, More Vision, announced that she will release a new EP titled Alívío on February 12, 2025. The next day, Chung Ha posted the promotional schedule, which includes the release of four sets of photos beginning on January 24, the album cover reveal on January 30, and the tracklist release on January 31.
She also revealed the name of the title track, “Stress,” through the schedule. On February 2nd and 3rd, 2025, fans will see two teasers prior to the official release of the music video.
The album title, Alívío, means relief in Spanish, so the name of the title track makes a lot of sense. It appears that Chung Ha will use this album to demonstrate how she has been freed from certain emotions.
Chung Ha shows many sides of herself through the promotional photos. In one of the photos in the first set, her face shows signs of stress, which could be related to the title track’s music video. She is shown in a more relaxed or professional setting in the second set of photos. One of the photos in the third set utilizes photo effects to show various reflections of Chung Ha. The final set of photos employ the same photo effects but has her posing in front of a car. We can only assume that she will speak about a wide range of subjects on this album based on the differences between each photo set.
Chung Ha looks fierce in the album cover photo! Since she hasn’t released an album since 2019, she must have put a lot into this one. Surely, she has a lot of stories to tell, and now is the perfect time.
We are very excited to hear this album and hope that it’s just the beginning of hearing new music from her.
