If you thought Jennie had a busy 2024, you haven’t seen anything yet!
On January 21, 2025, she announced the release of her debut album, Ruby, which comes out on March 7, 2025. She also posted a promotional video revealing the album’s featured artists: Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis.
The production for the promotional video is incredible! Jennie showcases a variety of concepts, so it will be interesting to see which ones make it onto the album.
On January 24, 2025, Jennie announced “The Ruby Experience by Jennie,” a three-date tour taking place in Los Angeles, CA, on March 6, 2025; New York, NY, on March 10, 2025; and Seoul, South Korea, on March 15, 2025. Though these shows are held in more intimate venues for this specific tour, Jennie will return to the United States to perform at Coachella in April of 2025.
A few hours later, Jennie released the music video for “Zen.” The lyrics speak about her resilience throughout her career: when you’re famous, people tend to expect certain things of you and expect you to be a certain way. Through this song, Jennie shows that she is confident in herself and no one can change that.
While it’s unclear if “Zen” is just an introduction or a full track on the album, it is a strong start to the Ruby era. We can’t wait to hear the rest of the album!
