Beyonce Announces NFL Christmas Day Performance with Netflix

‘Tis the season of gift giving! And Beyonce has wrapped one up for us in the form of an unexpected performance, in collaboration with Netflix. Beyonce has announced that she will be performing during one of NFL’s Christmas Day Halftime Shows. Can you say Merry Christmas?

For those who don’t know, the Baltimore Ravens will be facing off with the Houston Texans on Christmas Day… But that’s not what we’re her for. Fans have been waiting patiently (or impatiently) for Beyonce’s first live performance of a Cowboy Carter song. Now the time has finally come!

While Standing on a Cadillac completely covered in red roses, bull horns placed on its hood, and a front license plate that read “BNCNTRY,” (Get it?) Beyonce made her announcement in a white cowboy hat and a white dress with blue and red designs and stars. She didn’t even explicitly state what was going on. She simply quoted her own lyrics from Cowboy Carter’s “AMERIICAN REQUIEM” “It’s a lot of chatter in here. But let me make myself clear. Can you hear me? Can we stand?” Oh yes, we can hear you and we are standing!

Obviously, this announcement sparked a myriad of questions from fans and critics alike. The first question being related to her Netflix deal. To spark your memory, Beyonce inked a $60 million dollar deal with Netflix in 2019 promising 3 exclusive projects with the streaming giant. Homecoming: A Film by Beyonce was presumably her 1st project. So, is this the 2nd one? Also, Beyonce has been known to make music and tour announcements in February, often during the Superbowl, for a spring/summer kickoff. Is she switching it up this year and announcing earlier? Will 2025 even be the year for a Cowboy Carter tour or are fans being too presumptuous?

We wish we had the answers to these questions. But what we do know is that it wouldn’t be a true Beyonce production without everyone in her camp being tight lipped. Fans expect to be kept in the dark until December 25th at 4:30PM. So be sure to tune in. With Beyonce officially having the most NFL Halftime Show performances ever, you’ll be watching history in the making.
