Beabadoobee Paris Concert Review
Dirty Hit

Beabadoobee And The Bataclan Were “The Perfect Pair” For Two Sold Out Nights in Paris

Beabadoobee delivered an unforgettable two-night experience at the Bataclan on November 30th and December 1st, as part of her This Is How Tomorrow Moves tour. The Filipino-British artist captivated us with her blend of dreamy indie rock and raw vulnerability.

Beabadoobee, aka Béatrice Kristi Laus, released her third studio album This is How Tomorrow Moves in August and has scored millions of streams worldwide. With her ability to blend nostalgia, experimentation, and emotional depth, her music resonates with her audience through its vulnerability and relatability.

Having supported Taylor Swift on the North American leg of the Eras Tour and scored viral TikTok hits with tracks like “Glue Song” and her collaboration with Powfu on “death bed (coffee for your head),” beabadoobee’s fanbase has grown rapidly. Her performances at the Bataclan were likely among the last chances to see her in such an intimate setting, as her continued rise in popularity points toward larger venues and even bigger stages in the near future. Perhaps for this reason, or purely out of dedication, fans began queuing hours before the doors opened, eager to secure the best spot in the venue.

Both nights featured a packed house of fans, singing along to every word as the 24-year-old singer-songwriter guided them through a journey of her entire discography. Opening with “California”, a track from her latest album This Is How Tomorrow Moves, she immediately set the tone with dreamy instrumentals and infectious energy.

She followed with “Talk” and “10:36” from Beatopia (2022), which brought us immediately back to the early 00s ambience with their pop-punk vibe. “Take a Bite,” “Sunny Day,” “The Perfect Pair,” and “Glue Song” were among some of the fan-favorites that were also performed at the show.

Perhaps the most nostalgic moment of the night came mid-show with her performance of “Coffee,” her debut lo-fi single that was later sampled by Powfu in the viral hit “death bed (coffee for your head).” The track, which brought us some comfort during the chaos of the COVID-19 lockdown, got her nominated for the Rising Star Award at the 2020 BRIT Awards. She won an NME Award in the same year.

She continued the second half of the show with a mix of melancholic tracks like “Girl Song” and more energetic ones like “Care” and “She Plays Bass.” We love how her setlist included a balanced amount of old favourites and new gems, with fans matching her energy and words no matter the song.

As the night ended with “See You Soon,” it was clear that beabadoobee is not just a momentary sensation but a lasting force in music — and that we’ll, indeed, see her (again) soon.
