This is for all of you Peaky Blinders fans! The British period crime drama series about a notorious Birmingham, England gang in 1919 will soon be a movie. You will have the opportunity to see Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) the crime boss, lead his gang once again soon enough. Although this information was released a couple months ago there are still incoming updates.
For those who may have missed the original news, Netflix greenlit a Peaky Blinders movie in June, 2 years after the show’s 6th and final season. Series fans can rest assured that Cillian Murphy will be starring in the movie. And Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation actress, Rebecca Ferguson, was confirmed to join the cast in July. Now for the more recent news. Saltburn star, Barry Keoghan, will be joining the movie’s cast as well. No other cast members have been confirmed at the moment, including those from the previous television series. The show’s creator, Steven Knight, will be returning and writing the screenplay. So, the film will most likely have the same grit and rawness that the original series had that its fans fell in love with.
Besides this information, those involved have been fairly tightlipped about the project. However, considering there have been monthly updates since Netflix confirmed the movie in June, there will probably be more updates soon enough.
If you’re new to the Peaky Blinders crew, you have time to catch up on the series as it’s available to stream on Netflix right now.
